Oh so feminine! Lavender is one of those beautiful colours that you can't help but feel lady-like when wearing.
We have decided to focus lavender this week because it is one of those colours that any woman of any age can pull off. This soft purple is has a bit of je ne sais quoi with its French vibe. Soft, yet sweet.

Capture your soft side with this Vero Moda bolero. Its shade leans more towards a darker lavender, but the lace and bunched up shoulder keep it ultra feminine. Also, this top is extremely versatile with it's three quarter inch sleeve. Casual, or night wear, it'll match any look!

If you want to capture your girlie-girlie side, put it in a dress! This BB Dakota dress is nothing but ADORABLE. not only if it a soft and pretty shade of lavender but the open zipper down the front gives it an edgy appeal. Plus with the pleating in this dress, you can't go wrong. It adds a bit of flare, without the overwhelming tulle!

THE SKINNY: The Vero Moda lace bolero can not go wrong with a pair of ultra skinnies. Here, we paired it with a dark wash skinny jean by Dish, and a Karl Lagerfeild inspired graphic tee. Just these two pieces give off a high fashion look, but adding this peach SQ hadbag,with gold detailing and this Ann Klein watch really pulls it together for a casual, but very cute look!

Spring Steps in with New 2011 Pantone Colour Palette

Every season Pantone along with some of the worlds best fashion designers get together in New York and choose the top colours for spring 2011. Over the next few weeks we are going to be featuring each of the Spring 2011 Pantone colours and how that can be worked into your wardrobe.

HONEYSUCKLE

There's no colour that girls at the Dutch Growers Fashion Department love more than pink. That is why we were more than thrilled to start with the colour honeysuckle for inspiration. Not only is it chosen as colour of the year and most popular colour choice by fashion designers for 2011, but also it is the only colour that moves into the fall 2011 Pantone colours.

First you may ask, what exactly is honeysuckle? Well, It's a vibrant reddish-pink. A fun and flirty colour, with a bit of bite. A designer that we all love, Betsey Johnson, has really embraced honeysuckle this spring. Her spring collection is young and vibrant, with the use of sheer materials and bold flowers. Betsey describes this colour as "Simply beautiful, in a boudoir way."

Foxy Jean Top with Bib $40

Honeysuckle can be used in so many ways. Why not go bold by wearing this foxy jeans top. It has a stylish look with the bronzed detailed bib, but still sweet with the back of the neck tie up. Not to mention, how gorgeous does the bronzed metal look with honeysuckle?!

Matt & Nat Rowan Handbag Plush Collection in Magenta $150

As cute as this top may be, maybe keeping it subtle is more your style. If so, try it in a hand bag or clutch. this Matt & Nat bag is small but loud. With the long messenger style strap, and bronze detailing, you're sure to make a statement with this pink purse.

The easiest way to add this colour to a day to day look is by using it in something simple, like a scarf or gloves. This Sheer scarf matches the honeysuckle with browns, blues, and whites to give off a colourful mix of cools and warms.

Now, how do we put this into an outfit? Well, we've raided our racks and found two easy, but chic honeysuckle looks!

THE TRENCH. This spring, it is all about the trench. So why not pair it with the honeysuckle scarf and purse. The colour of the purse pulls out the tones in the scarf, and the beautiful bone colour of this trench keeps it simple. Add a straight leg jean with a centre crease, and you have a casual but sophisticated look.

THE PENCIL. Need an evening look? Wear your honeysuckle top with this olive pencil skirt. The bib'd necklace looks great with a simple skirt, and the olive colour keeps it young. Accessorize this look with this small cream purse and matching gold and cream bangles. The bronze zipper detail in the purse coordinating with the bib pulls it all together. Add some heels, and you're ready to hit the town!

Fall 2010 Fashion Shoot Day Two!

The second day's photo shoot was one of those perfect prairie days. lots of sun, a gentle breeze, and of course, bugs. Jana-lyn was a good sport about it all, and we still managed to have some fun.Here she is wearing a relaxed style Vero Moda Cano 2/4 top ($35) accessorized with a whimsical butterfly necklace ($29.99) .

There's a fine line between looking relaxed, and looking sloppy. To keep the look on the right side of the line, pair a loosely tailored button down shirt, with dark wash jeans and add a cork wedge heel to sweeten up the look.

From the farm to the College of Agriculture, who knew there could be so much fashion in the prairies! This look features a high fashion, slim fitting Vero Moda Heiko dress in navy ($110) put with a wide buckle gray belt.

Its all about the attitude.

How can you do edgy with out looking ridiculous? It's all in the accessories. This navy dress has small shoulder pad detail that is balanced out with a swooping chain and square bead necklace. The shape of the retro sunglasses mirrors the shape of the shoulder pads.

Fall 2010 Fashion Shoot Day One!

To give our website a much needed update :) We took two of our favorite girls, Brittney and Jana-Lyn out for a day of sun, rain and bugs. You might recognize some of our locations. All of the pictures were taken at local Saskatoon spots like the Bessbourgh Hotel, College of Agriculture, and the middle of nowhere (also known as the Saskatchewan prairies).

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Previously, we planned the photo shoot to be a warm sunny day. We had scoped out locations like the train bridge, the 2nd Ave. graffiti wall and other sunny spots. But, that morning the sun was nowhere to be seen. To deal with the rainy weather, we took things inside.
Brittney is wearing Vero Moda's Jefferson Jacket in purple ($109) and accessorized with a Fumi winter white handbag, with flower detail ($99.99).

A classic look at a classic location.

The Bessbourgh Hotel has always had a European feeling to it. What we love about Vero Moda, is it has the same European vibe. Vero Moda's clothing is cute, edgy, and chic. Brittney's look is put together, without being stuffy. The zebra print scarf, and flower detail handbag add a fun and flirty edge, to the classic lines of the jacket.

Beauty is found in unexpected places.

Finally the rain cleared up, just long enough for us to catch a few shots at the 2nd Ave. Graffiti wall.Brittney is wearing YMI Jeans with the new twisted wash ($64). Her black Foxy top features bronze accents around the shoulders and collar ($35). The look is finished of with a Lily purse in black perforated vegan leather from the Fall '10 Matt by Matt & Nat collection ($95).

One of the main reasons we picked this location is because of its edgy, urban look. YMI jeanswear have came with many new washes and finishes. Brittney's jeans are done with the "twisted" wash. They give your skinnies a fresh, different look, while still hugging every curve ;).
